The purpose of this role is to help end factory farming, through driving higher levels of sustainable income. Working in close partnership with the International Fundraising Team and the local Italian digital fundraising and campaigns team, you will ensure effective relationship building and retention of supporters and potential supporters to deliver a best practice “supporter journey” by using a range of methods and activities. 


  • Using communications, fundraising or sales related skills to interact with the Italian donor base - with an emphasis on digital communications 
  • Supporting the Fundraising Team to deliver against annual income and growth targets 
  • Contributing to development of a long-term and sustainable income stream 
  • Becoming an effective member of the team as well as being able to operate independently  
  • Providing administrative support to the team (particularly digital communications and database record keeping)  



With guidance and support from the Fundraising Team, you will 

  • Apply your skills in the fundraising team to drive income for Compassion in World Farming International’s work to end factory farming 
  • Develop relationships with new and prospective donors 
  • Maintain excellent communication with donors by preparing and sending all supporter communications in Italy, ensuring all materials are in line with CIWF brand guidelines and reflect our mission and values 
  • Deal with donors' inquiries, thank supporters and organisations in a timely and courteous manner, and record these communications on the database 
  • Support in building digital fundraising campaigns, including creation of digital assets, set up of tracking codes, reporting on fundraising performance and other digital KPIs 
  • Maintain donor records and produce database reports (ideally having a good working knowledge of Salesforce and/or similar CRM systems) 
  • Working closely with finance & CRM teams, process one-off and regular donations from both online and offline sources ensuring procedures are followed and information is recorded correctly onto the database  
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing retention programmes performance, produce reports and updates on a regular basis 
  • Share inputs to help build a long term relationships with supporters to generate maximum lifetime value and retention 



Essential experience and skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications/Business Administration or related field 
  • 2 years+ experience in relationship building and supporter / customer care  
  • Excellent writing skills in Italian
  • Fluent in English (spoken/written) 
  • Interest in and commitment to animal welfare  
  • Bonus: 2 years+ in developing creative ideas and writing engaging copy 


Skills, knowledge and attributes 

  • Strong communication skills - both written and oral 
  • Good knowledge and/or experience in database systems, reporting and management 
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Good knowledge of HTML and email marketing tools and platforms 
  • Ability to work under pressure  
  • Ability to work flexibly on own initiative or as part of a team, supporting fellow team members  
  • Experience in working with others and presenting information, ideas, and positions in a clear manner that can easily be understood across diverse and multi-cultural audiences 
  • Knowledge and/or experience in managing conduct and emotions in a way that represents the values and realizes the objectives of the organization
